We were looking at a car last night, and my husband thought it was a great deal because it was a 1 year old car, and was lowered $7,000. It was still more than he would have paid for a new car, a different model and scoffed about. It's interesting how he attached a $7,000 savings with the deal. my first step

How long do you guys hang on to clothes that you think you may wear again or you think you may fit into again. I usually wait about a year. If I haven't worn them in the past year, then I assume that I probably am not going to wear them in the following year. At the first of the week, I plan on going through every one's dressers in the house and whatever they haven't worn on their bodies in the last year, I am tossing out. I don't think my husband will be too impressed with this idea, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. I have to try to get rid of some of this clutter and I think this should be my first step.

My dinner

My dinner for tonight and Nicole was rice and fried eggplant mixed with eggs. Hmm it was really yum yum! I bought the eggplant last week when we do some groceries at asian store. Good thing they have eggplant just like in the PI. Unlike in the other store which way too big and it doesn't taste good compare the small eggplants. After eating, had to wash the dishes, well it wasn't really my plan to do the dishes tonights cos I was thinking of doing it tomorrow though since Im kinda tired but my mind couldn't resist of washing them so I just finish what I have started. Well, I guess it's good since I couldn't see dirty dishes tomorrow morning when having our breakfast.

Tonight might I would go to sleep early. I want to have a long Zzzzz since Nicole didn't take me have a long nap lol! Okay gotta go, gotta finish my works here before going to bed.

world pool championships

In every world pool championships the Asians have been dominating this sport. Players like Francisco Bustamente, Efren Reyes, Ronato Alcano they are all former champions. The former champions are mostly from Philippine. The first ever tournament I happened to watch was three or four years back when Efren Reyes won the title. Talking about Efren Reyes, he is the only player who takes risks and plays his game. He doesn’t worry about the consequences and follows his instinct which is the trademark quality of him. He takes risks in very hard conditions instead of playing safe and this is what makes him an extraordinaire.

Another great pool player is Ronato Alcano who also happens to be from Philippines. Ronato is also the champion of one time and his trademark quality is his break. Unlike other pool players he does not break as hard as others do. His break is always soft and pockets as well. Most of the other players break so hard that we can see their stick bending. Ronato is a soft breaker and he too takes risks while making his shots.

Man these Philippines are just great and a torment to other competitors.

fever

Since yesterday, anna’s health has improved although today she still has some fever, about 37.2 C. Not sure why is this but it could be due to her teething as well because can see two more teeths coming out. Last night we had the aircon at low fan and high temperature so I think that improved her condition not to have runny nose. However, she refused to sleep on her bed during bedtime and was like pointing to the sleeping swing. Mummy didn’t want to put her in there so she cried and cried for about 30-40 minutes. Then later Mummy carry her and rock her to sleep instead. I guess she was just worried that if she give in to her demands, she may get used to the sleeping swing and want to sleep in there all the time.We shall see how she goes today. Hopefully there’s no more fever. The good thing is that she is back to her cheerful self and like to make interesting expressions to everyone… One of these days must take some video of her expression… really funny and cheeky.

Mornings are extremely hectic in our house. The process of getting everyone ready and out the door never seems to get any easier no matter how much we prepare. As much as I love my family there is nothing like those few moments of silence when everyone is safely on their way to school or work and I have a few moments to myself to think. How popular is your blog?

A question that is always at the front of a bloggers mind is measuring how popular their blog is. How many people are reading what I write? How much influence do I exert on the blogosphere? While these two questions are relatively hard to answer, there are metrics and factors you can use to measure your blog with.

Site Metrics
There are a number of metrics out there you can use to get an idea of how much your blog is being used. The simplest way it to count how many visitors and page views your site gets. There are a number of tools out there that do this, however my favourite is Google Analytics, it’s free and tremendously powerful. If you use WordPress, another option is to use a stats plugin. My choice here is FireStats. It integrates beautifully with WordPress and provides a pretty comprehensive set of stats. If these don’t work well for you, there’s a host of other tools out there, from free packages like AWStats to fully fledged packages like WebTrends.

Web Metrics
Another set of figures you can use to gauge your site’s popularity is to use web metrics published by various authorities on the Internet. For example, Google assigns each web page a PageRank to determine how “important” a page is. Alexa ranks each website based on how many visits from people using it’s toolbar the website gets. More relevant to blogs is a Technorati Ranking which is based on how many sources your blog has in relation to others that Technorati knows about.

Other Factors
For those of you who don’t trust these figures there are other factors you can use to determine whether your blog is popular or not. One of these is how much spam your website receives. The more popular your blog, the more comment spam you will find. While not an exact science, if the amount of daily spam you get is increasing, that’s a pretty good indication that your blog is getting more popular. I came across another factor this morning: while going to Lilian Chan’s blog 5xMom’s I accidentally misspelt her URL (thinking that Lilian was spelt Lillian) and ended up on a spam site! If people are buying up misspellings of your URL, you can bet that your blog is becoming pretty popular!

Just keep in mind that all these factors won’t mean much in absolute terms but you can use them to chart your growth or to come up with a relative indication of how you compare to other bloggers out there.

I used to have this interest for photography two years back.I did consider attending one of the photography schools in town but I never manage to sign up due to time constraint.I don't own a dslr or anything, just a small tiny ixus 30.I prefer compact cameras actually as they are lighter and it's easier to carry it around.But of course, as much as I like the ixus, it has its limitations.

Almost every function is automatic and I can't adjust the aperture settings or the shutter manually.Anyhow, not that it matters coz I have no idea when I need to apply a high aperture setting or vice versa.A month ago, I noticed that there's a dead pixel on my ixus' LCD screen.A friend told me that I can send it back to Canon for some mapping stuff to fix it but I haven't done that yet.Maybe it's time to get a new camera huh?

crazy?

Do somethings drive me crazy? Oh sure, but it's just not worth any sort of hurt feelings or problems that might arise by mentioning them. Plus, I have about 110 more things that drive him crazy I'm sure, so if I don't want to open that can of worms--I have to keep my mouth shut!!

This being said, there are a couple of rules that I do have--and honestly, he's abided by all of them--and you know, he really doesn't have too. He's a grown man--he could rebel! One of my big rules--he used to smoke--but has since quit. He couldn't smoke in the house or in the cars. He smoked in his car, but never mine, and never in the house. Rule two: If he goes out drinking with his friends, he is required to call me to pick him up. I don't care if he's had 1 drink 10 hours earlier or 15 drinks 10 minutes ago--if you put alcohol in your body--you call me. This is my own life insurance policy. I am happy to be the designated driver--I'm always sober! He used to call, but then having to have me pull sleeping kids into the car to drive across town to pick him up started to make him feel guilty. So instead of drinking and calling me--he just doesn't drink! How easy is that! He is the only one out of all 12 of his high school gang that doesn't have a DUI, and everyone else has 2 or more!!

Yesterday--I had to cut him off! He is addicted--and I had to put my foot down! He and my sons are addicted to collecting trading cards! I'm all for this--really I am. But honestly, we are getting into some addiction patters, and a TON of money has been spent on Basketball cards! So I told him yesterday that he can't buy Basketball cards for 1 month. Now yes, he's a grown man, he works hard for his family--he is ok to purchase cards--but I told him--you will know it's an addiction when he's buying his cards on the sly and not telling his wife about it! I could so totally see the sly guilty look in his eyes knowing full well that was exactly what he was going to do!! Sadly, my boys are addicted too! So we are card free for 30 days! Wish us luck!!

I get irritated each time the price of stamps goes up. It happens frequently enough that I have scads of stamps tucked away in various placed that I need to drag out and take to the post office to get matched up with penney and nickel stamps so I can use them. And, I have at least one full book of stamps I didn’t even touch that will not be enough on their own come tomowwow morning.

I’ve cut out a lot of my mailing habits. I use e-mail more than ever and I pay all of my bills online. Stamps are reserved for Christmas cards and various invitations and thank you notes. I also mail out a good deal of things using the book rate.

I do agree, at least, with the formation of the Froever Stamp. If I stock up on these and happen to find them unused at a later date, they will still be good no matter how high the price of a postage stamp may have climbed. I think that makes a lot of people feel better about the increase.

Lionsgate Bug Movie

Look at the poster above alone invokes feelings of dread within me, and I'm pretty used to this sort of stuff being a horror film buff.I just love the suspenseful thriller movies like this as opposed to the slasher movies. This one is for certain going to make your mind think, and your skin crawl.It’s called bug movie.It is ready for release in 2007 from Lionsgate Films.and it’s the same director that brought you the classic “Exorcist”, which will bring you a spine tingling of a movie.that is caught my eye and makes me think I’ll surely want to see the move.
Just look at the movies posters. They have the creep factor written all over them, and they really make me want to see this movie when it comes out.
The southern beauty actress Ashley Judd who has had a host of highly sucessful films in the past.Ashley Judd plays a lonely waitress(Agnes) living in a rundown hotel who begins a romance with a paranoid war veteran who sees bugs everywhere.Agnes listens and nods, and doesn’t want him to leave;she feels safer around him. He begins to seem more weird. This doesn’t bother her. With mounting urgency, she begins to share his obsession about bugs, and together they escalate into a paranoid fantasy that ties together in perfect conspiracy all of the suspicions they’ve ever had about anything.
I can’t really tell you more of the bug movie storyline, you’ll have to see the movie for yourself. Although you can view the cool trailer from below itself.
The trailer immediately made me think about the mysterious Morgellon’s Disease,of which there have been many cases reported here. That puts a whole new creepy spin on the film for me.With a spooky storyline, A-List actors, and a master director Bug is sure to delight, and scare!

This past weekend

This past weekend Joyce Meyer held a conference here in Spokane for three days. I went with some friends to one of the events and was amazed at how large Joyce Meyer Ministries is. I had never heard of her before but she is huge around the country and around the world.

I was turned off at the beginning because she talked about tithing for over half an hour before getting into the actual speech. But once she got into the actual sermon on humility it was quite good. I don’t mind if whomever is ministering is a man or woman as long as they know what they’re talking about. She was definitely a good speaker and made a bunch of great points.

It was a good conference aside from the huge lecture on tithing - I understand that money is a huge aspect (especially when they don’t charge anything to get into the concert) but over half an hour? Is that really necessary?

Mother's Day

Gee! I've been too busy today to get much posting done...but I wanted to share my Mother's Day. How much you wanna' bet I'm the only chick in America that got a Bearcat police scanner for Mother's Day, and was THRILLED! Don't ask me why, I've wanted one of those things for YEARS...this year was the lucky year.

My guys all chipped in and got me one so nice though, that I may need a college degree to figure out how to program the beast. As much as I can do with computers...I began to read the manual that came with the scanner, and I TOTALLY DIDN'T GET ANY OF IT!!! I have weather though by golly...got that much going :) I've been online cruising around for new local codes and tips and tricks. A new hobby...yeah... A Bearcat scanner, a dozen gorgeous pink roses, and a fabulous meal. What more could a Mom ask for :)

I hope all Mom's had a great day, I surely did. I had both my boys at home, and my "girl-friend-in-law" and her daughter too. I don't get to visit with them too often, so it was a real treat. Oscar the beagle came along, so my border collie Reno had an all afternoon play date as well :)

We turned the guys loose in the kitchen...that was the rule...we got to be spoiled, and they cooked a fabulous steak dinner for us. That's comical turning your sons and husband loose in a kitchen to cook for six! Thanks guys, another special day made wonderful by those I love!

finally

Last week I finally got enough courage up to talk to my supervisor about getting trained to become a Prepress Operator (I'm a Preflight Technician now). Basically, they get to do the cool stuff — fixing the files, setting them up in the imposition software, etc. I had already taken the online class that taught the basics of using the imposition software and I did quite well. Well, he agreed that it was time that I start learning and he knows that I'm a fast learner. Things kept coming up last week that kept me from being able to start training, but today I finally got to sit down with an operator and start going over the basics. Yay! WOW......

Blogging has become a hot spot for me just lately.I wouldn't do this if only the craze on making a sum of money by blogging is not involved. I would be the wordless blogger ever if this doesn't exist. A lazy reader like me somehow gets empty-headed from time to time feeling left behind of what the world has become. Anyone would probably take the chance in spite the fact that it's time consuming at the same time brain draining.

I can't deny the fact that sometimes nor shall I say most of the time I find it hard to deal with especially with an infant to attend to when hungry and cranky. Imagine me holding my baby at the left arm while my right hand is on the keyboard trying to come up with a nice thing to say about a certain product or service I don't even know about nor idea what they're for. You got to be a quick thinker and have to be rich with vocabulary in order to keep up with the given time frame intended for some task or opportunity available before it's taken by others. Anyhow, I am happy the way this goes even though I have to sacrifice a little of my time instead of playing with my dear son there I go trying to make a dime because I have the purpose of helping my younger siblings back in my hometown on their studies.

On the brighter side, I am also pleased to have the motivation from these opportunities so I can at least exercise my writing skills, enrich my vocabulary and never to forget the importance of language as a means to communicate. This is a better way to sharpen my brain before it gets rusted from mainly being a stay at home mother. I may be an introvert type of person, shy and a bit reserved, I would be better of thinking and writing to be productive. It feels like being schooled again. Introduction to journalism experience type of scenario takes me back in time only on the world wide web. By the way, my baby is sleeping soundly. Such a relief!

PS 3 will flop in India

The PS3 is finally launched in India along with 6 EA Sports titles, from what i reckon the product is going to be a big flop overall as well as one compared to the Microsoft Xbox 360 in India. The product in its current avatar makes little sense in India. Heres why ::


The BUZZ - Xbox has the buzz going, they launched first and thats a huge advantage in their kitty.

The price, while the Xbox 360 costs 19999 approx for the basic model, the Playstation 3 costs a whooping 39000 approx. rupees in India, it might have the fancies but Indians prefer non-deluxe models as starters. Who would want to buy a gaming console thats that expensive. 36 k is a big amount and can be used at a number of places other than a gaming console.
The 20 GB model was not launched in India. This is going to hurt Sony the most. The 20GB model could have been priced competitively with Microsoft's Xbox.

The game price - from what i remember , its Rs.2700 for a title , again too steep. Imagine having to shell out 2700 rupees every time you want to buy a new game.
The Marketing, since the PS3 launched, i have seen only 1 newspaper ad. ONE freaking ad ?. Remember when the Xbox 360 was launched in India, the kind of advertising Microsoft did, from newspapers to TVs to web to bus stands even. Sony does not seem to be willing to spend that kind of money on advertising in India. No brand ambassadors announced till date. A soft and silent launch. No hype created.
No Playstation 3 at Sony World yet, the Sony World nearest to me still was to get a Playstation 3 kiosk. Compare this with the Xbox, every college show, every retailer, every exhibition has a Samsung LCD and a Xbox 360.

Analysts have been fairly surprised at the surge in popularity of the Nintendo Wii in this next-generation console war.

Lacking the top-notch graphics and media features of the other two systems (Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3), Nintendo's Wii features motion-sensing controllers and a much lower price tag than the competition.

the design of our home

The downside to the design of our home is the impossibility of getting a box spring larger than a twin up the stairs, hence we have been looking at either building or buying a platform bed. While I do have the plans to make our own, in looking at one of the platform beds that club furniture has on their website, the "Connor", I fell in love with it. I really like the large upholstered headboard and it's made in the USA.
