Aggressive Youzhny ousts Nadal at U.S. Open
It was an unusual way to acknowledge the crowd's postmatch applause — his racquet balanced on his head like a cap and then saluting army-style to the four sides of the stadium — but Mikhail Youzhny deserved to do anything he liked after his 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-1 upset of Rafael Nadal Wednesday at the U.S. Open.
No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal of Spain bends down to rest between points in the fourth set against unseeded Mikhail Youzhny of Russia September 6, 2006 at the U.S. Open Tennis Championships in Flushing Meadows, New York. Youzhny won 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (7/5), 6-1.
