Abel tasman National Park

After our last night up in the Abel tasman National Park we headed back on the road on our drive to Picton. It was from here we caught a water taxi out to the little Eco Retreat we are at now. This place is amasing!!!! It's only accessible by boat as it's right in the heart of the Marlborough Sounds which are right up at the North part of the South Island. The water taxi took around 20 minutes to get here and we pulled up into our little place in paradise. It's literally a little lodge in a tiny bay called Lochmara. It is absolutely beautiful. Loads and loads of land to explore with hammocks everywhere and the only sound you can hear is the birds and the tiny waves that lap up from the little bay. We have eaten brekkie each morning right next to the water looking out at the green green hills of the Marlborough Sounds. We couldn't ask for a more peaceful place. We came here to just relax and chill out after a busy week or so on the road and that's exactly what we are doing. We had a lie in this morning which beleive me is a luxury as we are usually up very early and out and about. Then after breakfast over looking the water we went for a walk around the property to explore all the acres of land. They've done fab things with this place, there are hammocks everywhere you look with amasing views out over the water, there's an avary, a Lizzard Inn and even a Glow Worm Gully which we're gonna head off an explore after dark tonight!!! Rob went for a little Kayak (yep I stayed well away after the capsizement in Thailand!!!) and I sat in a hammock right by the water reading my book. We have just come back from a stint in the stunniny Spa looking over the bay. This is a true little haven!!! The Lodge has access routes to the Queen Charlotte Walking Track, one of the many walking tracks in New Zealand so tomorrow morning we are going to head off and walk a bit of the track around to the next Bay where we can grab a bite to eat and a bevvie in the little pub on the water and then we can get a water taxi back. Then it's back here for a massage and another Spa before settling down for our last night in the Lodge. Oh it's such a hard life!!!! Later tonight we are gonna head out 1st to see the glow worms and then up to the observatory - a little patch of grass right on top of the hill behind the lodge where we can swing on the hammocks to our heats content whilst we watch the many many stars in the sky .
